Now is the time to consider enrolling your child in preschool
The beginning of the 2024-25 school year next fall may feel far off in the future, but if your child will be 4 years old on or before Sept. 15, 2024, now is the time to consider enrolling them in preschool at the Marshalltown CSD.
Here are the key steps for preschool enrollment: Schedule a preschool sign-up appointment by calling (641) 754-1000 or emailing ebanks@marshalltown.k12.ia.us – the sign-up period runs Monday, February 5 to Friday, March 29, so make sure to set up your appointment soon!
Attend your appointment at the B.A. Nibolock Orpheum Welcome Center at 220 E. Main Street. We’ll talk about what our preschool program offers and ensure it would be a good fit. You’ll need to bring proof of address (any piece of mail), proof of birthdate (birth certificate or document with the child’s date of birth), and immunization records.
You will then receive a confirmation letter in the spring.
Students who are signed up for preschool will also need to be registered to attend. After school registration opens on July 1, we will email you information on how to register for school online.
After your child is registered, their teacher will contact you to set up a preschool home visit the week before school starts. Preschool starts a week after the first day of school for the K-12 students. If your address or busing needs change, call (641) 352-7303 or email ebanks@marshalltown.k12.ia.us. (Bus requests or changes will not be accepted from August 1 – September 15, so please call with any changes as soon as possible.)
Your preschool sign-up appointment will be an excellent time to ask us questions and learn about our program. We want to make the process as easy as possible!
Preschool offers students the opportunity to develop valuable academic and social skills, giving them a strong foundation as they move to kindergarten, first grade, and beyond. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions.
