As we look ahead to the start of the fall term at Marshalltown Community College, Ellsworth Community College, and Iowa Valley Grinnell, now is the time to get registered. Fall classes begin in August, and registering early gives students the best selection of courses, schedules, and support services. Whether you’re a recent high school graduate, a working adult ready to reskill, or someone returning to college after time away, Iowa Valley is ready to welcome you.

This fall, we’re launching a new instructional materials model that will replace the traditional bookstore with a more affordable and accessible option. Instead of tracking down textbooks or waiting for deliveries, students will have immediate online access to all required course materials on the first day of class. The cost is a low, predictable $22 fee per credit hour, saving students money while ensuring they’re ready to learn from day one. Prefer a hard copy? Students can opt in to receive printed materials for no additional cost.

This shift is about more than just convenience. It’s part of our commitment to student success, access, and removing barriers and giving all students the tools they need to succeed, regardless of their background or budget.

But don’t worry, the spirit gear isn’t going anywhere! Students and the community can still shop for high-quality college apparel and merchandise right on campus. The Tiger Shop at Marshalltown Community College and The Panther Shop at Ellsworth Community College will offer a great selection of the latest gear to show your support and school pride. Both shops will be conveniently located in the library areas of each campus.
