President Trump is delivering for Iowa

On Jan. 20, 2025, President Donald Trump was inaugurated as the 47th President of the United States after a historic, landslide election victory. He won every swing state, won the popular vote, and won Iowa for the third time in a row. More than 77 million Americans made their voices heard at the ballot box that they were fed up with open borders, high taxes, and weakness in the White House under the Biden administration. One year later, President Trump has kept his promises to put America First, end the chaos that engulfed the Biden era, and deliver real, conservative victories for Iowa and our nation.

On day one, President Trump wasted no time honoring his pledge to secure our border, deport violent illegal immigrants, and hold the drug cartels for targeting our kids and flooding our communities with deadly fentanyl and other dangerous narcotics. He restarted construction of the border wall, designated the cartels as foreign terrorist organizations, and ensured that our brave ICE and border patrol agents had the resources they needed to keep our now very secure border secure. As a result, illegal border crossings are 93% lower than under the Biden administration and not a single illegal immigrant has been released into our country for seven straight months. We even recently learned that President Trump’s Drug Enforcement Administration seized more than 443,000 pounds of fentanyl from Iowa in 2025. This isn’t political rhetoric; these are real wins that prioritize the safety and security of Iowans all thanks to President Trump.

I’m also glad to have worked with President Trump to keep another promise that he made to Iowans and the American people. On Independence Day last year, I was at the White House when President Trump signed into law the Working Families Tax Cuts, which I helped write, to deliver the largest tax cuts for working families in U.S. history. We ended taxes on tips, overtime, and Social Security, secured additional relief from the death tax for Iowa family farms, and cut taxes across the board for families and small businesses. We even included new provisions to rebuild domestic manufacturing and create great-paying jobs right here in our communities in Iowa. Because of these pro-growth Republican policies, the average tax refund will increase by $1,000, a family of four earning up to $74,000 will pay no federal income tax, and Iowa workers will see as much as a $7,200 increase in real wages. That’s more money in Iowans’ pockets and a stronger economy for all.

Additionally, President Trump is an incredible friend to Iowa farmers. He is holding foreign countries accountable for taking advantage of our agricultural community, opening new export markets for Iowa farm products like our corn, soybeans, cattle, and hogs, and recently signed legislation to allow our kids to drink whole and 2% milk at Iowa schools. President Trump has also taken action to stop Biden’s harmful Green New Deal policies that hurt Iowa agriculture and undermined our energy independence. There is no greater ally to Iowa producers than President Trump.

2025 was a historic year for President Trump and Republicans. We completely secured our border, took on the drug cartels, delivered the largest tax cuts for working families in history, and negotiated strong trade deals for Iowa agriculture and manufacturing. I look forward to continuing to work with President Trump to advance a conservative agenda for Iowa and put America first.
