On Saturday I attended my grandson’s soccer game at the complex on 18th avenue and I have some observations to share. First and foremost people need to slow down in the parking lot. There are many children at this site and not all of them are careful when crossing the parking area. I hope this letter makes people think about slowing down in the parking area because it could be your child or grandchild in harm’s way when someone is driving too fast. Secondly, while at your child’s game, put your phone away and watch your child play. Enough with the texting, twittering, Facebooking and all the other electronic distractions! A toddler wondered onto the playing field because her parents were both on their phones and not watching her or her brother as he played.
