Grateful for Marshalltown’s generosity

On June 13, JBS lent their time, their delicious ribs and not one but two ginormous grills to raise money for Iowa River Hospice, as part of the weekly Farmer’s Market in Marshalltown. As the barbeque-laced smoke billowed and ribs flew off those grills more than $3,800 was raised in only a few hours. We cannot say enough good things about the JBS leadership, employees, Marshalltown High School students and staff and our own Iowa River Hospice volunteers and staff that came out to sling ribs as well as brats and chicken. Thank you also to everyone who came out to buy ribs for this worthy cause. The meat was so delicious that it was selling before it left the grill.

The next week, the wonderful kids and staff at Elim Children’s Center raised $150 selling delicious lemonade for Iowa River Hospice. As your local hospice, we are humbled and grateful to live and work in a community like this one. Your kindness, generosity and community support does not go unnoticed and we could not do what we do without it.
