Sharon Soorholtz Greer appointment is well deserved

The three of us served as bankruptcy counsel, special health care counsel and advisor/Chief Wind-down Officer to Central Iowa Healthcare in connection with the 2016 bankruptcy and successful sale transaction to UnityPoint Health – Waterloo. We, and on behalf of our firms, offer our heartiest congratulations to our friend, colleague and collaborator Sharon Soorholtz Greer on her appointment and investiture as Judge to the Iowa Court of Appeals on Friday.

The Central Iowa Healthcare case was challenging but richly rewarding. We enjoyed meeting and serving the community and were fortunate to work with a dedicated, responsive and capable board that welcomed our help. Sharon played an instrumental role as an active board member throughout the case and was an important confidante to Chairs Carol Hibbs and Mike Mason. She additionally took the key leadership mantel on several important negotiations that were essential to the favorable outcome.

We enjoyed working with Sharon and becoming her friend. We wish Sharon much success in this new chapter of her distinguished legal career and thank her for her civic contribution in this role.
