Random act of kindness
While visiting Marshalltown on the morning of Jan. 14, I witnessed the most wonderful act of kindness. As we were parking our car on Main Street, I saw an elderly gentleman inching his way across the street in slushy and icy conditions.
He hesitated with each step, assessing the condition of the street and oncoming traffic. A lady in a red car came to a complete stop, exited her vehicle and assisted the man across the street. It warmed my heart to see such a selfless act and reminded me that there are good people everywhere.
