Remember the Iowa State Fair Corndog Checkoff

Thank you Iowa for making the 2019 Iowa State Fair a record-breaker in so many ways. And thank you, too, for your support of the Blue Ribbon Foundation, that, for the past 27 years has put your generous donations to work preserving barns and buildings across the Fairgrounds. From the first fair in Fairfield in 1854 to 1886 when it found a permanent home, to today, the Iowa State Fair has been a unique institution, serving to educate, inform and entertain people from all walks of life. We are humbled to serve on the governing board.

It’s time to show your support once again. The Iowa State Fair Blue Ribbon Foundation invites Iowans to support the fair financially through the Corndog Tax Checkoff. When completing your Iowa tax return, simply write in your donation to the “State Fair” on line 57b of tax form 1040.

Together, we provide a reliable source of funding for future renovations, building enhancements and maintenance on the fairgrounds. Your donation is fully tax-deductible and will reduce your refund or add to the amount due.

Since 1993, the Blue Ribbon Foundation has raised funds in support of the Iowa State Fairgrounds. From the preservation of Grandfather’s Barn in 1994 to the enclosure of the Varied Industries Building in 2001 to the complete renovation and expansion of the 4-H Exhibits Building to be completed for the upcoming 2020 Fair, the Blue Ribbon Foundation’s goal is to make the Iowa State Fairgrounds the best in the nation.

Help us ensure the future of the Iowa State Fair with a Corndog Tax Checkoff donation. And don’t forget to mark your calendar for the 2020 Iowa State Fair, Aug. 13-23. See you at the fair.
