We can be #Strongertogether
We recognize that many are hurting and angry in the face of dual challenges from the COVID-19 pandemic, and now the scourge of social injustice. Our condolences and prayers go out to those that have lost their lives, too early, due to injustice. And also to those working to ensure the public safety. We cannot let anger and hate triumph.
Helping others reach their fullest potential is part of our mission at the Marshalltown YMCA-YWCA. Our commitment to equity calls on us to speak up for those whose voices aren’t being heard, whose calls for help are being ignored. We all have a role to play to achieve justice for all, without giving in to anger and violence.
We know the Y cannot be all things to all people, but we do remain here for all. We cannot solve every problem, but we can each take small steps to ensure that love prevails over hate. The Marshalltown Y core values of caring, honesty, responsbility, respect, empowerment; and racial justice will continue to guide us. We firmly believe that together we are stronger. #Strongertogether, we can be a part of the solution.
