I would like to join Iowa Democratic Minority Leader Todd Prichard in calling for all the Iowa Lawmakers to join together in unity to heal our state. Over 4,100 are Iowans dead out of 300,000 diagnosed cases of COVID-19, but the Iowa Legislature has no mask mandate.

Governor Reynolds did not acknowledge Trump’s defeat in November until this month. State Representative Dean Fisher from Tama County remarked on his Facebook page, “We will survive. Remember our side has the guns, the other side doesn’t know which bathroom to use.” After five people died at the insurrection at the Capitol and a policeman lost his eye, Fisher took the Facebook post down, but neither of these delayed actions led us to unity. The time for unity is now.

Iowa needs and deserves better leadership. Country before party.
