Calling all former Marshalltown Bobcat Cross Country runners who ran under Coach Tim Bell from 1981 — 2013. We are having a reunion this summer to reminisce on our past successes and catch up with each other and Coach Bell himself.

Coach Bell led the Bobcats for 32 years, amassing 25 state meet appearances, two individual state champions, 84 percent winning percentage with a 2,391 – 470 record in head to head matchups, was recently inducted into the Iowa Association of Track Coaches Hall of Fame and most importantly a beloved coach to 541 runners. We had a lot of success together and it is a great reason to reconnect.

We have a date set for the weekend of July 23 and 24. We have plenty of social time plans for Friday night at Legends Bar and Grill, walk or run the MCC cross country course that Coach Bell helped design on Saturday morning, a tour of the recently renovated Roundhouse on Saturday afternoon and a gathering at the American Legion Saturday evening.

If you were a runner, or a parent of a runner, or helped out as a volunteer for the Bobcat Invite during the reign of Coach Bell, you are invited and encouraged to attend. If you know of any former Bobcat Cross Country runners, please share this information with them. We hope anyone connected with the Bobcat Cross Country program during the Coach Bell era can make it.
