Republicans are hypocrites

South Carolina Republican Lindsey Graham is running his mouth proclaiming that if Trump is convicted for mishandling top secret documents there will be rioting in the streets. Well it is for sure like Trump he won’t be in the streets leading the pack. Like Trump he is an agitator, all bark.

If Trump supporters are dumb enough to go to the rail for that protofascist (Trump), then they need to feel the power of a few good Marines.

Republicans are complaining about adding more IRS staff, if they are filing proper tax papers they have nothing to fear. Considering Trump and his insider friends like Allen Weisselberg, lawyer for the Trump Foundation who was charged with 15 counts of criminal fraud, and other Republican office holders caught cheating on their income taxes, Republican hypocrisy drips from their Orwellian mouths.

Now about Republicans and their hypocrisy concerning their outrage that President Biden is forgiving some debt on student loans and calling it hyperinflationary is laughable! Republicans enjoy giving huge tax breaks to the super rich and giant monopolized corporations. Considering the huge fraud within the military industrial complex, forgiving student loans is a wonderful idea.

Iowa Republicans forgave state income tax to retirees who go south for the winter in hopes they will spend their money wintering in Iowa. What a joke! Now those poor poor retirees can have more money to spend in Arizona. Hey don’t tell Gov. Kim Reynolds. Oh well, the Republican led state will just make up for the shortfall by raising our Property taxes.

Now about right wing syndicated writers like Cal Thomas who downplay or make fun of the scientific community who warned us about the dangers of global warming for decades. Cal is just a little lap dog for corporate power and a Judas goat besides.

In a Feb. 16 letter to the editor I was pondering why religious leaders did not gather on the U.S. Capitol steps and denounce Trump’s actions and the insurrection. I was not specific, so as a Catholic, why have the four bishops of Iowa remained silent on the insurrection? I could write a good sermon using the Commandment — Thou shall not Kill and Thou Shall not Steal — explaining if the fascist coup would have been successful, it would’ve been the murder of democracy and the theft of the ballot box.
