In response to Larry Ginter

Thank you Mr. Ginter for the lessons in psychological and philosophical wordplay. Does Mr. Ginter put too much faith in philosophy, he says by me using the word hate and showed a psychological weakness. I got the word hate out of Webster’s Dictionary.

Hate, abhorrence, loathing, meanness all for the most part mean the same thing. With Mr. Ginter’s words, calling Trump a slick con man, a lawbreaker and he needs to face jail time, among other things. Then Mr. Ginter turns and chastises Iowa Republicans. So what am I to think about Mr. Ginter’s words?

In your April 4 letter, you quoted philosophers Pascal and Voltaire. As we know, philosophy is someone’s opinion on a topic. It might be true, and it might not be true.

You said I am in philosophical trouble for quoting the God of the Bible because faith statements can’t be proven in a court. If that’s true, why is the standard of truth predicated on swearing to tell the truth so help me God. I don’t believe God’s interested in proving his existence to a secular court, He’s more interested in changing the hearts of mankind.

As for the wisdom issue, you do not get it all at once, as Proverbs 9:10 tells us “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,” and the knowledge of the Holy One is in sight. The Bible is my go-to book on all matters of faith. If that puts me in philosophical trouble for quoting scripture as you say, I am okay with that.

A side note, I did enjoy your reply to my letter.
