My last response to Larry Ginter

This is my last reply to Mr. Ginter on the topic of the so-called insurrection. The only people that call it an insurrection are the Democrats or Trump haters (my opinion). Mr. Ginter, ask me if I think the so-called insurrection was a harmless morally righteous Christian political discourse. No I don’t! It has nothing to do with Christianity. It was a legitimate political protest that got out of hand by a few overzealous radical protesters.

This exchange with Mr. Ginter makes me wonder if he understands the difference between religion and Christianity in the religious mix, but a cursory reading of the New Testament shows Jesus came to do away with religion. Eternity is through Christ alone.

So Mr. Ginter unless the philosophers you quote are talking about Christianity in specific, their dictums have nothing to do with the teachings of Jesus. Pascal’s words “Men never do evil so completely and Cheerfully as when they do it with religious conviction.” That’s true of the radicals that belong to one of the thousands of world religions but has nothing to do with Christianity.

Now for Voltaire’s words “Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities.” That’s true also, look at Hitler the evolutionist and the atheist Stalin, Mao and Pol Pot. It’s estimated that these guys killed over 100 million people.

Ginter’s mistake is that he attributes those philosophical words to Christians and not to the religious zealots of the world. Yes that includes the Christian Crusades of the Middle Ages that were all about power and control and nothing to do with Christian faith.

Finally, you will not find a sugar coated story in the Bible, you get the good with the bad. We don’t always understand what God is doing, but that’s okay because His ways are above our ways, and His understanding past our finding out.
