Camera revenue should be used to expand anti-speeding efforts
The revenue from the speed cameras should be used to expand the effort to stop speeding and reckless driving. Two cameras are a drop in the bucket. Iowa Ave. West has a terrible speeding problem. I have witnessed several accidents.
Anson, May, 3rd Ave. and Center St.also are race tracks. Purchase some stationary cars, more cameras and even a couple more officers. I am told an officer can’t sit on my street at drive times because that is their busy time. Dedicate a new officer or two. The violations will pay their salaries.
Just today at lunch a guy ran the stop sign at Industrial Blvd. and 12th Ave. Intentionally. And a gal in a burgundy Jeep full of kids sped by my house. That was in only 30 minutes’ time.
As I compose this a motorcycle went by at probably 70 mph. Make our quality of life better and safer. There is no respect for the law, other drivers or people who live on those streets.
