Don’t overlook the library
The City Council is discussing possible uses for the revenue from traffic cameras. Please don’t overlook the Marshalltown Library! The library is facing the loss of $200,000 as a result of the state’s elimination of the Special Library Levy. In 2015, the citizens of Marshalltown voted favorably to adopt the Special Library Levy for our library and community. Without this $200,000, the library will have to slash services such as hours, days of service, and print and digital resources. The library is an essential component of the quality of life in our town. Please use some of the traffic camera revenue to fill that gap for our library.
