Concerned about Isom’s council performance
I am writing to express my deep concern about the performance of Gabe Isom on the City Council. I have been a resident of Marshalltown for 17 years, and I have never seen a more incompetent and ineffective city council member.
Gabe Isom has a long history of making poor decisions and putting his own interests ahead of the needs of the community. For example, Gabe Isom led the drive to provide $125,000 to the Arts and Culture Alliance. Although this was a kind gesture, there are much greater needs in our community. This uncontrolled spending must stop.
In addition to his poor decision-making, Gabe Isom also spearheaded the 5% franchise tax to the utilities bills. Again, that is a tough call in our community when our fees are already the highest in the area.
Now that the library levy is under the discretion of the Marshalltown City Council, can we trust Gabe Isom to support that much needed resource instead of another pet project?
