An important election is upon us in Marshalltown. On Nov. 7, Gabriel Isom is pursuing re-election for City Council: 2nd Ward. There are several articles that speak to Gabe’s platform and bullet points outlining goals and projects that are important not only to Gabe, but to our community. But behind the platform, there is the man, and after all it’s truly a person we vote for. Gabe, through personal and public interactions, has proven himself to have passion for our community. Passion, as you well know, is not something that can be taught, it must already be part of someone’s character. Over the last six years, Gabe has proven his passion for Marshalltown. When we look to community leaders it is important to elect individuals, like Gabe, who care about Marshalltown’s history while also focusing on the growth opportunities we have before us. As a business owner, and mother raising children in our community, it is incredibly important to have leaders who care enough to ask the right questions, to not settle for the status quo, and who continue to improve our fair city and thereby raise the quality of life for our citizens.
