With the recent retirement of State Senator Jeff Edler, we have the opportunity to select a new State Senator to represent us in Des Moines. I’m enthusiastically supporting Kara Warme. As a member of the Marshall County Board of Supervisors, I worked together with Kara on the Central Iowa Community Services committee working to provide and enhance behavioral health services to the people of our region. I’ve been very impressed with Kara utilizing her business abilities into service as the Chief Development Officer for YSS. She has a background of working two decades in telecommunications and marketing leadership, following earning her engineering degree from Stanford and MBA from the University of Iowa. She’s committed to fiscal conservative principles of pro-growth, controlling state expenditures and protecting the taxpayer, especially family farmers.

Kara set her roots in rural Story County with her husband of 19 years. Her political opponents try to attack her time living in California, but they fail to recognize California was where her father was stationed in the Navy while she grew up. Her family’s sacrifice and service should be praised not misguided as a political attack. Her opponents also try to claim she is not a conservative, this is laughable! On top of Kara’s fiscal conservative accolades, Kara is the first and only candidate in this race to dive into the culture war as unapologetically pro-life and confronting the transgender issues infiltrating our youth in schools and biological males’ desire to compete in girls’ sports. That makes Kara a true authentic conservative we can trust.

Wishy washy conservatives avoid leading on these culture issues. The political ruling class in Des Moines runs far from authentic conservative candidates like Kara, and they are running fast as their PAC money has flowed into her opponents’ campaigns. I know Kara, she prioritizes her Christian faith and is a woman of the people. I know who I want representing me, the choice is easy.
