On March 30, 2023 a grand jury of citizens brought an indictment against Donald Trump in New York. These were not Democratic henchmen, but citizens randomly chosen who looked at the evidence and thought it deserved a trial. It was assigned to Justice Merchan presiding over criminal matters, since 2009. The trial has presented documents and testimony to support the indictment during the persecution portion of the trial.
Senator Grassley should understand the rule of law and how the grand jury works since he’s on the Judiciary Committee, yet he calls the trial a “pollical lynching.” The man who used to have bipartisan respect in Iowa is now afraid of Donald Trump.
