You have the discretion to edit the Times Republican the way you wish, but the newspaper and you are judged by the company you keep.

The latest word salad by John Worden allows this problem patron (and to its credit, the Marshalltown Public Library has never released the level of patronage or non-patronage of Worden) to twist whatever non-arguments he has into a continuous non-argument.

There is no censorship or banning of the Epoch Times or the American Rifleman in Iowa libraries. He cannot make a connection between Iowa and national libraries not including it in its collections with censorship and lack of American Library Association standards. Stop printing this factoid.

The American Rifleman is a membership only magazine, and membership magazines are generally not included in library collections. That includes AAA and AARP. The Epoch Times does not meet ALA standards even in deep red states.

Worden was vilified by an overwhelming number of responders on KCCI Facebook after his public stock appearance on KCCI News. He looked like a fool along with Ray Mitchem, his cohort. Stop feeding into this public spectacle of a crafty but deeply disturbed man.

I don’t want to write any letters, but this public embarrassment of him has gone too far. He is becoming a public freak.
