When I was 60 years old I got a computer. That was 28 years ago and I have not become a learned user. I am very good at turning it on and off. There are many technical things one can do to prevent others from stealing or deleting your material. I just plod along in absent-minded hope that no one will ever want my creations. There have been occasions where I had to have help getting reconnected to my machine. There are many apps available for just about any help you may need. On Jul 19, 2024 the world experienced a universal shut-down of technical equipment. It wasn’t a partial failure, every computer in the world could not function, rendered useless for a time. Airlines had to shut down or cancel operations, 9-1-1 could not take calls. People had to “operate old-school” with paper and pen. The technical people were aware that this could happen. Some folks had developed a protection for this possibility and had already downloaded a correction. There was just one problem, it was downloaded without checking to see if it worked. It didn’t and there wasn’t time to install a new one. Computer users had to reconnect their devices. This problem reminds me of glitches that may exist in our Godly connections, our faith. God has carefully made sure that any corrections needed are available and safe to use. His app is made up of repentance, change sorrow and contrition. Our safety app is our belief and faith in God. As long as we are using that app, His protection is assured. Believing, is the key, or promise, that we will live with Him in eternity. God is different than most people, He cannot lie so what He says, He will do. His connecting app is fail-proof and ready to be installed at a moment’s notice. Your personal connection to God is the most important event in life. Make sure the strength of your connection is wrapped in trust and belief.
