Coach Hoop’s legacy
We have all mourned the loss of Coach Hoop. His death hit me especially hard. As the newest City Council member this past January, he made me feel welcome and part of the team. We had many conversations on the future of Marshalltown and I will forever miss his wisdom and vision. He took a conservative approach, willing to listen to everyone, and act on what was best for Marshalltown as a whole, not just the wants of special interest groups. From my observation and perspective, because of the work ahead of us, we need someone that can hit the ground running and has the ability, time, knowledge, and dedication necessary for this critical position. I do know Coach was friends and neighbors with Mark Eaton, and they shared a common vision and dedication to Marshalltown. Mark checks all the boxes necessary to be our next fourth ward councilor. He will be able to carry on and enhance the legacy and vision that Coach Hoop left with us for a better tomorrow. He will do so with integrity and respect for everyone. Please get out and vote because your vote does matter. Vote Mark Eaton.
