Fonseca will be effective on city council

Dear Editors,

I support Melisa Fonseca for the Fourth Ward City Council Seat. The election is on July 16 for those who live in the Fourth Ward. Although I can’t vote in the election, I support Melisa in her goal to represent the people of the Fourth Ward and in turn serve all people of Marshalltown.

I have known Melisa and her family since she was a student, and I was a teacher at Woodbury Elementary. Melisa was a kindergarten student in my classroom. I watched her grow and become active in school and community activities with her family. Melisa participated in activities at the Middle and High School, she became involved in the iAl Exito! Leadership programs. She holds a degree in real estate and financial management with a minor in Spanish from University of Northern Iowa. She is now a Broker/Owner and REALTOR ® at Alta Vista Real Estate, which is based in Marshalltown, and is licensed to sell real estate in the state of Iowa. She successfully sold my home in just 2 days!

Melisa brings a unique perspective for the city council. She is a woman, a mom, a Latina, a young, ambitious adult, an accomplished business owner and real estate broker. Melisa is actively involved in the Marshalltown Community as well. Recently, Melisa was actively involved in the Civic Pride Group’s first event at Peterson Park, the 4th of July Parade, and the Fireworks celebration at the softball diamonds among others.

Melisa has the business knowledge and skills to be an effective leader on our city council. Her knowledge of every corner of our town through her real estate business puts her in a strong position to understand the community’s needs. Her communication skills will enhance understanding and provide representation for more of our community.

If you live in the 4th Ward of Marshalltown, please vote for Melisa Fonseca for City Council on July 16.

Starting at $4.38/week.
