Nan Benson is dedicated to Marshall County
I am writing this letter in support of Nan Benson’s reelection to the position of Auditor/Recorder of Marshall County.
I have known Nan for years. We are friends, and we were both blessed to grow up on Marshall County family farms near each other. These are farms we continue to nurture and love. I have witnessed her hard work and dedication to everything she has done-her faith, family, friends, the many boards she serves, and her work as a public servant.
As a former Marshalltown Community School educator, I understand working many hours over scheduled hours to meet the needs of students and families. Nan has worked tirelessly to meet the needs of Marshall County citizens. Watching Nan successfully negotiate the 2018 tornado, 2020 pandemic, and 2020 derecho was amazing. Lest we forget, those were days of ever-changing rules and decisions. Nan did the work with grit, grace, and aplomb.
During the 2020 pandemic, I had the honor of working at the courthouse (which had then relocated to the bank) to help implement COVID restrictions. I witnessed Nan working with other government employees and also her direct staff. As I watched her work with different entities, I found my friend to always be pleasant and patient.
In summary, Nan is a committed public servant. She does the work without fanfare or selfish ambition. It is her service, her mission. I ask that you vote for Nan Benson to ensure Marshall County continues in capable hands.
