The recent editorial by Police Chief Mike Tupper endorsing our Iowa State House Representative, Sue Cahill hit all the pertinent topics but what that stands out most in my mind are these TV ads that are a pack of lies…We all know they totally misrepresent the Sue Cahill we have elected to the State House and will do so again this election. Sue Cahill is currently serving her second term representing Marshalltown at the Iowa Statehouse and doing an excellent job keeping the citizens and local issues upmost in her daily life.

Sue was a guiding force in our school system and took great care of her elementary kids at Woodbury School for 20+ years. Her self-confidence and leadership skills are heavily relied on as she tackled tough issues then and now. She has always taken the time to study and learn the issues and continues to take a common-sense approach to solve them. Sue carries this same attitude into the state house every day she is there. Her focus is on what is best for her constituents. She asks the questions, studies the answers, figures out how to help make it happen and shares that knowledge with those relying on her.

She is an avid supporter of our police and fire depts, school system, and our downtown recovery and she works closely with other state representatives on both sides of the aisle to make the right things happen to benefit not only her constituents, but the entire state of Iowa.

Sue’s opponent is young and following the lead of his campaign committee. He is their puppet trying to get elected at the cost of Sue’s integrity. Let’s show him that his negativity and lies will NOT get him elected…they will just motivate her constituents to vote for her, so she can continue as the honest leader that she has proven herself to be both as a public servant and friend to the people she serves.
