Supporting Nan Benson
I have served as both a precinct election official and a precinct chairman for many years in Marshall County. Each election I have received the training and support from the County Auditor that is needed to do my job. Training is not just how to use the computer and do the paperwork but also how to handle the many different situations that come up on election day and most of all how to respect each voter. Nan Benson and her staff are always available to answer questions and do everything they can to make my job easier. The amount of behind the scenes work that is done to hold an election is tremendous. Decisions are made on purchasing equipment on a budget, getting people to work before the election and at the polls, ordering supplies, securing polling places, and the list goes on. Our precinct alone may have ten different ballot styles. Getting those ballots ready for voters to mark, requires working with the individual school districts, townships and cities within the county.
The elections are only a part of the Auditor’s job. I know that Nan Benson cares greatly about the people of Marshall County and I will be voting for her to continue working as Marshall County Auditor/Recorder.
