Thankful for UnityPoint Health — Marshalltown
At various times during the past sixty days, I have needed to use one of the three Marshalltown medical facilities of UnityPoint Health: The Emergency Department, UnityPoint Clinic — Express, and UnityPoint Health Marshalltown Hospital.
I admit, at times, I have doubted the credibility of these facilities. I am no longer a doubter; we are fortunate to have these medical facilities available to us in Marshalltown.
When I entered the Emergency Department, staff began to swiftly treat me, without compromising my care.
In the Express Care Clinic, staff were also efficient, professional, and compassionate. I especially appreciated that as they cared for me, they explained the treatment.
And in the hospital itself, I didn’t doubt the staff’s abilities. From the hospitalists to the kitchen staff, nurses, cleaning staff, and techs, I felt each person was well trained to complete his/her responsibilities.
When one is hospitalized, three breaks a day occur — meal times. I appreciated the varied menus for each day, and the food was good.
While in the hospital, I was blessed to meet some really nice people.
Regretfully, I was in the hospital on the day of my brother’s funeral and burial. When the hospitalist came in to see me, she commented, “I wish I could do something for you,” and then she gave me a big hug. I needed that.
We, in Marshalltown, need not hesitate to use UnityPoint’s Marshalltown medical facilities.
