Response to Hardin County voters can’t be bought
I have never met the author of this letter, but I did want to respond to her since it is clear that clarification is needed.
Ms. Inks believes that campaign donations are for personal use. No idea where she gets this idea, but I can assure you that the Iowa Ethics and Campaign Disclosure Board would not take kindly to anyone using campaign donations for a couple semesters at Ellsworth or a down payment on a car. I do appreciate her letting everyone know that I have received a lot of support from Hardin County citizens though. Thanks Emma!
Secondly, Ms. Inks doesn’t understand how a Facebook page works. Many admins can run a page, not just one. In the case of the Hardin County Democratic Party of Iowa’s Facebook page, there are at least five administrators who can post content. I have no control over what others post and I don’t post much there as I have focused on other social media. I have so many close friends and family who are Republicans that of course, I respect their right to their opinion as they do mine and I do not want to offend them. My personal relationships are much more important to me than politics. For Ms. Inks to assume I’m the only one posting on the HCDPIA FB page and that I think the same as others is unfair, short-sighted and wrong, especially since she’s never met me.
And finally, much of what Ms. Inks thinks I think are federal level Republican talking points. I’m running for County Supervisor. My focus is on where taxpayer dollars are being spent, how they’re being spent and what is needed to make Hardin County a wonderful place to live for everyone, including Ms. Inks.
