Recently, I wrote to Representative Hinson urging her to vote no on an appropriations bill that would provide protection for chemical manufacturers like Bayer.

I have lived in Iowa for the last 40 years and have raised my family here in a beautiful small town. However, two of my three family members have developed rare forms of cancer.

We must fully fund medical research to discover the causes of Iowa’s high cancer rate, develop treatment and cures for cancer, and learn how to prevent such high cancer rates in our state. We must make Iowa healthy enough for our families to live here without fear of harm from pollution.

I am once again urging Representative Hinson and Iowa’s congressional delegation to vote no on any version of the Cancer Gag Act and implore my fellow Iowans to contact their representatives and tell them to put people before corporate profits.
