Standing for rather than against
There is anger in our culture these days. People standing against, not just ideas, but the people who hold those ideas. Angry rhetoric screamed. Violence incited. Lives lost.
There are calls to stop and calls to bravely stand for what you believe rather than hate and be against others for what they believe.
This Sunday, Oct. 5, gives an opportunity to do just that in the annual Life Chain. This is a peaceful, prayerful event where participants hold signs advocating for the value of ALL human life. We stand for the lives of little boys and little girls not yet born, but also for the lives of women experiencing a surprise pregnancy. We stand for women who felt they had no other choice and allowed that little boy or girl to be killed and now live with deep regret.
We stand FOR life because Jesus is FOR life! He loves the lives of little boys and girls and wants them to come to Him. He loves those in difficult situations and offers them His compassionate, strong arms. He especially loves the lives of those burdened with mistakes (that would be all of us!) and demonstrated that love on a cross purchasing forgiveness for repentant, believing hearts.
Join us for this positive, FOR Life event. Registration starts at 1 P.M. at either Redeemer Lutheran Church or St. Henry Catholic Church. Starting at 2 P.M., we will quietly stand along South Center from Olive to Main. Refreshments served afterwards at Redeemer.
If you are against such an event, that is your right, but please do not be against or malign the people participating in the event. In fact, if you want to discuss what we believe and want us to know what you believe, join us for refreshments afterwards. We would love to have a peaceful exchange of ideas.
