Supporting Eric Goslinga for school board
Recently retired Marshalltown Community School District administrator and school board candidate Eric Goslinga offers to bring 35 years of successful educational leadership and innovative program development skills to the district’s board of directors. His role as an associate principal at Marshalltown High School and 17 years in creating and serving as principal of the successful state-wide recognized Marshalltown Learning Academy alternative high school for at-risk students will bring a practical perspective to the academic policy and fiscal oversight responsibilities of the board. Goslinga worked on development of the district’s virtual learning program and implemented interactive and project based learning in a student centered, supportive.environment at the academy. His work also included supporting homeless students in meeting shelter, food, clothing, and transportation needs as well as development of the student cadet programs. Goslinga supports priority funding for needed learning resources while promoting careful stewardship of taxpayer dollars. Marshalltown needs this quality of non-political, non-biased, needs-focused professional leadership for sustainable community growth and economic stability.
