By now, most people have heard that RAGBRAI is coming to Marshalltown on July 22. You may be wondering how you can get involved. One of the easiest ways to show off All Wheels Welcome and Marshalltown Strong is to host riders!

Hosting riders at your home can involve as little or as much as you like. We ask for a place for the readers to sleep, either in their tents on your lawn or inside if you are willing. We ask that they have access to water and a bathroom. We also ask that you have a safe place for them to come inside in case of bad weather.

The housing committee has put together a host sign up sheet that allows you to pick the type of guests you are comfortable with at your home. You can select from smoking/non-smoking, pets or not, gender-specific riders, families, singles… your choice!

Sign up at the Marshalltownragbrai.com site under the heading of “Plan your Overnight.” Select the “Host Form” and review your options. At our last housing meeting we still had many requests for private housing locations we need to fill.

We need you to be welcoming for those riders who will be enjoying our hospitality. Make sure you are part of the fun by serving as a Host location for the riders.
