I need a favor from you
Whenever you begin a project that is years in the making, costs lots of money and tons of personal time, you keep your eyes fixed on the finish line.
You know the community will appreciate it. All along the way, the group creating the project are dogged by the “we don’t need this, our community doesn’t deserve nice things” from people on Facebook and in person.
Yet the people behind the project trudge on to completion. When the project finally becomes reality, it is more beautiful than anyone in the community could have imagined. Ribbon cuttings and celebrations abound from the community! Yes, the community loves it and does appreciate it, that is most of the people.
Apgar Family Water Plaza is a huge addition to our community and makes our quality of life here so much better.
Recent actions at the water plaza shows that there are a few parents that may need some help upping their parenting skills.
Here is the favor I am asking of Marshalltown.
The City has never intended for the Water Plaza to be supervised, we don’t have the staff and quite frankly we shouldn’t have to. It takes a community to raise our children, and I believe the Marshalltown community can help.
IF YOU SEE SOMETHING, SAY SOMETHING.
Remember that adult supervision is REQUIRED and unattended children require a call to the Marshalltown police. Bigger kids? The Marshalltown Police non-emergency number is 754-5725. Also, don’t forget to talk to your kids and their friends about this too. We have more great things coming, so let’s make the Apgar Family Water Plaza the first of many successful projects in Marshalltown to come. Are you in?
