Iowa needs a mom in the U.S. Senate

By Kara Warme 2 min read

As a mom to two daughters, a State Senator, and a proud Iowan who still helps with our fifth-generation family farm, there is rarely a dull moment in my life. But I wouldn't have it any other way. Every day, moms all across Iowa juggle the demands of raising kids, working full time, and serving their neighbors and communities.

That's why I'm supporting another amazing Iowa mom - Ashley Hinson - to be Iowa's next United States Senator. Ashley is a leader who will work with anyone to achieve one important goal - delivering results for Iowa.

She worked with President Trump to cut taxes for working families; eliminate taxes on tips, overtime, and Social Security; and strengthen the child tax credit. Together, they also secured the border, approved hundreds of millions of dollars for Iowa's rural hospitals, and advanced stricter provisions to keep China away from American farmland.

President Biden signed two of her bills into law; one to help prevent stillbirths and one to ensure that Iowa veterans, especially in rural communities, can access the quality mental healthcare they need and deserve.

And she has worked across the aisle to pass policies important to Iowa agriculture like year-round E-15 and a new Farm Bill. She even recently introduced legislation to lower healthcare premiums and prescription drug costs for Iowa families, veterans, and seniors.

With Ashley Hinson in the U.S. Senate, Iowa will have a fighter and a proven winner who will put Iowans first and achieve important victories for our state. I encourage Iowans to join me in voting for Ashley on Nov. 3.
