To my Republican friends: The Democratic party has a fine collection of candidates that will do well for you in the future. They will be accountable and demand accountability of others. They will work to bring a safe and secure future to the agriculture, commerce, and communities in Iowa.
Let me start with Chris Jones, for Secretary of Agriculture, who will turn our farming system into one that depends less on maximum yields of corn and soy and high returns for out-of-state investors and more on reasonable profits and better health for farmers and their communities.
John Norwood running for Treasurer wants to invest in Iowa instead of investing in worldwide funds that make big profits. He will invest in businesses that will use the diversified crops that farmers will grow when they have a place to sell them.
Rob Sand for Governor, Nate Willems for AG, Taylor Wettach for Auditor, and Ryan Peterman for Secretary of State, all fit well into this new paradigm that will work for Iowa.
