LOS ANGELES — MLB’s first game at the Field of Dreams movie site in four years in Dyersville, Iowa, averaged 1.66 million viewers on Netflix on Thursday night, according to Nielsen. The Philadelphia Phillies beat the Minnesota Twins 7-1 on two home runs by Kyle Schwarber. This was the first year that Netflix has carried one of MLB’s special event games. According to Nielsen, the average median age was 46, the youngest for an MLB special event game. Fox Sports will broadcast 35 volleyball matches

As women’s college volleyball continues to see an increase in popularity on television, Fox Sports announced Monday that it will air 35 matches, including eight on Fox, this season. The eight matches marks the most on a broadcast network in a single season. The schedule will be highlighted by top-ranked Nebraska facing No. 2 Texas in the inaugural Players Era Volleyball Showcase in Las Vegas on Aug. 30.
