MCC women downed by KCKCC on the road
KANSAS CITY, Kan. — The Marshalltown Community College women’s basketball team lost on the road to Kansas City Kansas Community College on Saturday, 68-37.
The Tigers (5-6) only trailed by six at halftime, 27-22, but they were outscored 24-5 in the third quarter.
Alyssa Roth led MCC in scoring with eight points, while the Tigers shot only 26 percent from the field and 31 percent free-throw line.
Nija Collier recorded a double-double of 15 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Blue Devils (12-1) in the win.
Next up for MCC is another road trip, this time to Cedar Rapids to take on Kirkwood Community College on Wednesday.
