MHS football hosting ‘rent-a-player’ auction

The Marshalltown High School football team is sending its athletes into the community for a Spring Clean-Up “Rent-A-Player” event.

There will be two shifts for the players to help with clean-up on May 4, from 8 a.m. to noon and then from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., and on May 5 they will be available from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Players will be available for hire to assist with tasks such as yardwork, cleaning, painting and heavy lifting.

Community members may hire two players for up to four hours at $100 or four players for up to four hours at $200. Players can be hired in back-to-back blocks if available. Money will be paid to a coach at the job site on the scheduled day.

Money raised will help to support the purchase of new support technology, team meals after road games and equipment for football players in grades 9-through-12.

To schedule workers contact Kate Lamb at klamb@marshalltown.k12.ia.us or call 641-754-1142 in the high school activities office. You can also contact Bobcat head football coach Adam Goodvin at agoodvin@marshalltown.k12.ia.us or by phone at 641-799-7707.
