Rev. Darrell Mitchell of Marshalltown, center, won two events at the National Senior Games this weekend in Albuquerque, N.M. Mitchell, the pastor at Hope United Methodist Church, won both the 200-meter and 400-meter events for the 90-94 age division in a competition that welcomes more than 13,000 athletes from all 50 states, Canada and Barbados. Mitchell won the 200 in a time of 51 seconds, and he won the 400 in 1 minute, 57 seconds — all of this four years after tearing a hamstring during the 2015 National Senior Games in St. Paul, Minn.
