IRVING, Texas — Iowa State sophomore quarterback Brock Purdy was named the Big 12 Conference’s Offensive Player of the Week after a record-setting day in the Cyclones’ 72-20 win over ULM on Saturday.

Purdy’s 510 total yards of offense set Iowa State’s school record. In Saturday’s win, Purdy threw for 435 yards and ran for 75 yards.

Purdy’s performance ranks fourth-best in FBS this season while his passing total was just 5 yards short of the school’s record for the most passing yards in a game.

The sophomore’s three passing and three rushing touchdowns tied the school record for touchdowns in a game. Purdy is also the first player in Big 12 history to have over 400 yards passing with three rushing and passing touchdowns.

Purdy is currently ranked fourth in total offense with 362.3 yards per game, seventh in passing yards per game at 329.7 and 11th in competitions per game at 25.

Iowa St. will go on the road to play Baylor on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. in Waco, Texas.
