STC harriers compete at Grinnell meet

GRINNELL — The South Tama boys’ and girls’ cross country teams competed in the Grinnell Invite at Ahrens Park on Tuesday.

The South Tama boys team finished in 10th place out of 14 teams. Leading the Trojans was Garrett Arp, who finished in 33rd place with a time of 18 minutes, 52 seconds, and Jair Sosa, who was 36th in 18:58.

Rounding out the scoring five for South Tama was Logan Arp, who ran 20:33 to finish 70th, Clayton Graff ran 21:16 to finish in 81st, and Mitch Knock running 21:30 to finish in 85th.

The South Tama girls teams placed 13th out of 14 teams. Leading the Trojans was Callie Frakes, who was scored as 17th with a time of 21:29 and Alyssa Chyma was scored 24th place in 21:54.

JoJo Tyynismaa was scored 64th overall with a time of 25:36 while Abbigail Froelich and Neena Lasley ran 27:03 and 27:12 to score 80th and 81st, respectively.

South Tama will return to action on today in Marshalltown at the Bobcat Classic.
