Bobcat bowlers sweep past Newton

The Marshalltown bowling team stayed undefeated with a pair of wins against Newton at Wayward Social on Tuesday.

The Bobcat boys defeated Newton 3,023-2,594.

Lucas Kramer bowled a 225 and a 255 to lead the team with a 480.

Xander Pickett rolled a 220 and then a 204 to post a 424. Demitri Ferneau posted a 404 while rolling a 188 and a 217 in his two individual games.

Hunter Dannen totaled a 390 while posting a 180 and a 210 in his individual games. Logan Profit rounded out the scoring with a 359 after posting a 158 and a 201 in his games.

In the boys’ five Baker games the Bobcats totaled 965 points.

The MHS girls edged out Newton 2,450-2,222.

Kylee Witt led the team with a 408 after posting a 186 and a 222 in her games.

Sydney Dannen rolled 189 and a 183 to finish with a 372. Ashly Wiegand totaled 365 after rolling a 181 and a 184 while Madison Pickett rolled a 313 after finishing with a 152 and 161 in her two individual games. Rounding out the scorers was Emily Diggins rolled a 249 after posting a 125 and a 124 in her two games.

The girls teams rolled a 743 in their five Baker games.

The Bobcats will travel to Val Lanes on Dec. 10 to face Dowling Catholic.
