Brady Fritz

CEDAR RAPIDS — Wartburg College sophomore Brady Fritz has been named the American Rivers Conference’s Wrestler of the Week, the first of his collegiate career.

Fritz, a South Tama County graduate, went 4-0 at the NWCA National Duals Jan. 10-11 in Louisville, Ky, recording two pins and a major decision. The highlight, however, was a 3-1 decision over top-ranked 141-pounder David Flynn from Augsburg University, the defending national champion.

Fritz improved to 16-3 for the year with his perfect weekend, helping Wartburg win its 12th NWCA team title in program history.
