IOWA CITY — It was a clean sweep of the Big Ten’s weekly player honors for No. 19 Iowa men’s basketball players Luka Garza and CJ Frederick. Garza was given Player of the Week, while Frederick was named Freshman of the Week.

This is Garza’s second honor, having won Player of the Week in December. Garza averaged 30 points per game last week, along with five boards per game — shooting 66 percent from the floor and hitting 4-of-6 3-point attempts. With 33 points in a win over Michigan, Garza is up to four 30-point games this year, fifth-most in college basketball this season.

Frederick shot 6-of-11 from 3-point range in the Hawkeyes’ wins over Northwestern and Michigan — tying a career-high with 21 points against the Wolverines.

The Hawkeyes are 13-5 and host No. 24 Rutgers on Wednesday at 8 p.m.
