The season’s early end did not prevent Iowa star Kathleen Doyle and Iowa State sophomore guard Ashley Joens from garnering All-American honors from The Associated Press.

Doyle received third team recognition in addition to her Big Ten Player of the Year award. Doyle averaged 18.1 points, 6.23 assists and 4.6 rebounds per game while shooting 44.1 percent from the floor and 32.7 percent from 3-point range and leading Iowa to a 23-7 record in her senior season.

Joens was named AP honorable mention after a season in which the Iowa City native averaged 20.5 points and 10.9 rebounds per game for the Cyclones. Joens had two games this season with 20 or more rebounds and scored 30-plus points three times. She shot 41.7 percent from the floor, 33.6 percent from 3-point range and 80.6 percent from the free-throw line while leading the Cyclones to an 18-11 season that ended in a upset of No. 2 Baylor.
