IOWA CITY — University of Iowa All-American and Hawkeye Wrestling Club member Pat Lugo has been named USA Wrestling Athlete of the Week.

At the co-main event of last weekend’s Rumble on the Rooftop in Chicago, one of the first wrestling events since March, Lugo tallied three step-outs and a second-period takedown to defeat former Ohio State All-American Luke Pletcher, 5-0.

It marked the first competition for both wrestlers since their senior seasons were cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
