Tollefson represents Trojans on 2nd team
It was a difficult first season back in the Heart of Iowa Conference for West Marshall boys’ basketball. The Trojans finished with a record of 7-13 (3-8 in conference play) and lost to rival East Marshall in the first round of the postseason.
Junior Joey Tollefson was the team’s lone representative on the All-Conference second team, after leading the Trojans in scoring with 12.1 points per game. The guard was the team’s only double-digit per game scorer and was the most consistent source of offense for a team that struggled to score at times.
Two Trojans made the honorable mentions: Sophomore forward Payton Hart and junior Parker Reese. The duo helps form a core that will return next season along with Tollefson.
Hart averaged 9.1 points and 5.2 rebounds per contest. Reese averaged 6.4 points, 4.2 rebounds and just over an assist per game.
