WEST DES MOINES -- The Class 3A No. 4 Dowling Catholic girls' soccer team scored early and then often in an eventual 10-0 victory over Marshalltown in Tuesday's regular-season finale.
The host Maroons (13-3) scored seven minutes into the match and went into halftime with a 9-0 advantage against the shorthanded Bobcats, who had no reserves to spare in the first half.
Marshalltown (1-16) suffered its eighth double-digit defeat of the season. The Bobcats kick off regional play with a match Wednesday against No. 5 Ankeny Centennial in Ankeny.
