ELDORA -- BCLUW's Nate Bishop won medalist honors shooting a 5-over 40 as Comet boys golf won a triangular with Gladbrook-Reinbeck and South Hardin on Monday at Pine Lake Country Club.
The Comets compiled a 187 team score to beat out the Rebels (204) and South Hardin (219) for the top spot.
G-R's Isaac Baer was the runner-up medalist with a 45.
BCLUW also got contributing scores from Mason Martin (48), Zaden Eggers (49), Evan Andrews (50) and Lincoln Stover (50); Bodie Butler added a 51.
BCLUW boys track wins Sumner Co-Ed
SUMNER -- BCLUW boys track and field won four events en route to a team title at the Sumner-Fredericksburg Co-Ed Relays on Monday night.
The Comets scored 155 points to beat out Nashua-Plainfield (124) and Sumner-Fredericksburg (120.5) for the top spot.
Cayden White claimed gold in the 800-meter run in 2:04.76 and Cayden McLeland was first in the 3,200 in 11:08.41.
Cael Keller, Connor Lynch, Lane Hartwig and White won the 4×400 in 3:33.84; Tyler Bracy, Carter Gallentine, Lynch and White were first in the distance medley in 3:40.74.
BCLUW also scored silver medals in seven events to climb the team standings.
Redhawk girls track 2nd at Belle Plaine
BELLE PLAINE -- North Tama girls track and field scored 73 points to finish as runners-up at a Belle Plaine co-ed on Monday night.
Grace Lidgett won the 1,500-meter run in 5:35.54 and was the anchor leg of the winning distance medley relay team, along with teammates Lainey Willenbring, Kayden Zimmerman and Gabriella Seda clocking in at 4:48.51. North Tama was also 2nd in the 4×800 relay.
Meskwaki's girls scored 15 points, all from Sia Bear, who was 2nd in the long jump, 3rd in the 200-meter dash and 6th in the 100.
The North Tama boys were seventh with 23 points and Meskwaki eighth with 14 points.
Kolt Knaack placed third for the Redhawks in the 800-meter run. Davian Pushetonequa of Meskwaki placed second in the 100 and third in the 200.
West Marshall girls 2nd at PCM meet
MONROE -- Emelia Hauser earned three gold medals to lead West Marshall girls track and field to a second-place team finish at a 6-team invite at PCM High School on Monday night.
The Trojans scored 100 points. PCM ran away with the team title with 213 points.
Hauser won the 400 hurdles in 1:10.23 and was the anchor on winning sprint medley and distance medley relay teams. Abby Tollefson, Amelia Ranson, Audrey Girard and Hauser won the sprint medley in 1:57.89; Girard, Natalie Meyer, Ryleigh Storjohann and Hauser ran 4:38.34 for first in the distance medley. Hauser was also part of the second-place shuttle hurdle team.
Addie Thompson contributed a second-place finish in the 3,000-meter run in 12:00.98.
Giesking wins high jump at A-P
PARKERSBURG -- Logan Giesking cleared 6-feet on the high jump bar to win the event and lead Gladbrook-Reinbeck boys track and field at a 5-team scrimmage at Aplington-Parkersburg High School on Monday.
No team scores were recorded. Kye Rottinghaus of A-P was the runner-up in the high jump at 5-10.
The Rebels were also third in the sprint medley and distance medley relays; Caleb Egesdal added a bronze medal in the 800.
Grant leads Mustang girls golf at AGWSR
ACKLEY -- East Marshall sophomore Bailey Grant shot a 52 to lead the Mustang girls golf team in a triangular with AGWSR and Hampton-Dumont-CAL at Ackley Country Club on Monday.
The Mustangs shot 221 to finish behind H-D-CAL (204) and AGWSR (209) in the team standings.
Rounding out team scoring was Sara Weitzell with a 54, Delaney Ryan shooting 55, Riley Anderson with a 60 and Marvea Harvey with a 67.
AGWSR's Gabrielle Kruger was the medalist with a 46; Trinity Swart of H-D-CAL the runner-up with a 47.
Grundy Center boys golf wins home tourney
GRUNDY CENTER -- Judd Jirovsky and Preston Martens swept the individual awards as part of Grundy Center boys golf's team title at the Bob Schmadeke Invitational at Town & Country Golf Course on Friday, April 21.
The tournament was moved from its usual 18-hole tee-time on Saturday and converted to a nine-hole tournament.
The Spartans scored a 160 for the top spot.
Jirovsky shot a 38 and Martens had a 39. Ben Wegmann was one stroke back with a 40, Eli Wegmann hit a 43 and Tate Jirovsky was the final Spartan scorer with a 44.
Zaden Eggers led the way for BCLUW with a 43. The Comets were sixth in the team standings.
GMG did not field a full team. Zach Duncan led the Wolverines with a 55.
GMG's Mathern, EM's Neuroth win at Bear Classic
BROOKLYN -- GMG's Dylan Mathern and East Marshall's Morgan Neuroth claimed individual gold at the Bear Classic at BGM High School on Friday, April 21.
Mathern won the 800 with a time of 2:51.23. Neuroth was the 400-meter hurdle champion in 1:16.68.
Both runners competed in the Class A competition; East Marshall was third in the six-team field with 92 points while GMG placed fifth with 64 points.
Neuroth added three more golds as part of the winning 4×400, 4×800 and shuttle hurdle relay teams. GMG placed second to the Mustangs in the shuttle hurdle in the Wolverines' best relay finish of the night.
